The UK government last week published its long-awaited Online Safety Bill.
This follows various stages of publication and consultation over the last 3 years that are helpfully summarised in this note from the House of Commons Library.
With the Bill running to 213 pages and covering a huge amount of ground there will be lots for me to write about over coming weeks.
As an initial take on we have recorded an episode of the Regulate.Tech podcast where we explore what the Bill actually does, why the UK Govt has drafted it this way, and where some of the areas of contention will be.
I will be actively involved in the detailed line-by-line scrutiny of the Bill and would be very interested in hearing from readers/listeners about their views on the Bill and how we should be testing it in Parliament.
